One question I keep asking myself  and trying to find an answer is, is it worth wasting huge sums of money, burying the dead when there are countless of Ghanaians who cant afford a good meal a day? Maybe by the time you finish reading this you will help provide answers to this unanswered question.

Every now and then, people want to give their love ones befitting funerals regardless of their status. They feel its an obligation they have to fulfill in honor of the dead person and in other to lay his or her soul to rest , they must organize big funerals in their honor. Is this really necessary? when asked this same question I 'll say is not necessary when the family members cannot even pay children's school fees, they cant afford a descent home and to cap it all they don't have a descent salary either. People who find themselves in such situations often resort to loans or depts.

The question again is, who is going to pay these depts. or loans after the funeral ceremony? is it the person who couldn't pay his children's school fees or the one with the ''chicken change" salary? I leave it to you to decide.

However, there are very rich people who can do this very easily without depending on loans or depts. after these celebrations of life, they continue to live their normal lives, but, what impact does it have on society? Do we continue to depend on government for every thing while we lavish money funerals?
